3/2/14 - Ice Fishing The Honey Hole
This was only 3rd time out on the ice this season, partly because of all the snow, sucks trudging around in deep snow, and partly because I've been lazy. Vin and I put in a 6 hour day (10am-ish-4pm-ish). Turned out to be a comfortable day. Unfortunately it's March and we have at least a foot of ice. The fishing was slow, but the quality was decent. The bite was weird and sluggish, with a number of hit & runs, and missed fish. Our buddy Pat came down with his 7 year old son. Pat set a couple traps up, and his son got 2 out 3 bites catching one Pickerel, and one a 1lb bass. Vin had 3 Pickerel, and 3 Bass with his biggest at about 2-1/4lb-2-1/2lbs. I finished up with 3 Pickerel with the biggest at 2lbs, and 3 Bass with biggest at 3-3/4lbs.
